Binta Ata, founder of The Mix Design Hub, created the space to appreciate, celebrate and support African design and innovation, especially by women, “Many of the elements used within our space are made by local creatives and it is exciting to see how amazing some of them are”.  “Minimizing our environmental impact is a major goal across all of our initiatives. The majority of building materials are sourced locally and are recyclable. The wood used throughout the building is reclaimed wood from the Volta Lake.

Local artisans’ works are found throughout the building such as our chandeliers,  made from mouth blown recycled glass beads.

Industrial waste stones and slate can be found in our washrooms restaurant and gallery floors. All our clay planters are made in a small village in the Volta Region.”

Our welcoming Adinkra Symbols Art work at our front desk with its various meanings in English and Ga are to pay tribute to the traditional area we are located, same as our door handles. Proud of our tradition it is our way to tell our story and that of our continent.
